About Us

My mission is to create beautiful, high quality chainmaille jewelry that empowers people to proudly express their unique identities. As a bisexual artist and mother, I am committed to welcoming and celebrating diversity through my craft. My goal is to build an inclusive community around my art and provide accessible, custom jewelry options that help my LGBTQIA customers feel seen. I strive to support other small businesses and marginalized creators through collaborations and uplifting their work. Everything I make combines my lifelong expertise, passion for equality, and belief that when we embrace each other’s truths, we can transform the world for the better.

I’m Trista, a chainmaille jewelry artist who creates colorful stainless steel and anodized aluminum accessories from my dining room table studio. I have over 19 years of experience crafting with metal rings, ever since discovering my passion in Florida as a young adult.

Now I live in New York with my spouse, 13-year-old nonbinary child Aubi (who also enjoys making jewelry), and our cat Blackbeard. We moved to find a safer, more inclusive community for our family.

When I’m not designing new pieces, I enjoy hiking and exploring our new home state. As a bit of a mama bear, I love crafting beautiful jewelry that helps the LGBTQ community express their identities. Each accessory combines my lifelong expertise with my commitment to equality and representation.

Please feel free to contact me to learn more about my work or commission a custom piece. I look forward to crafting something as unique as you are from my cozy dining room studio!

Charlie T. Unicorn (Imaginary Assistant)

Age: None of your damn business

Gender: Fabulous

Pronouns: They/them

Star sign: I am a star!

Favorite food: Oats

Born in the fluffy wake of a rainbow colliding with a cotton candy factory, Charlie T. Unicorn is the Sass Master for whatever company they deign to grace with their presence. Look at your HR chart and, if you’re lucky, Charlie will be there. After attending Miss Elenore’s School for the Criminally Underappreciated, Charlie T. Unicorn spent a year wandering the planes where they absorbed the tenants of Zen Underwater Basket Weaving and took a correspondence course in the art of war.

Later, at Vassar, they taught a classon being cool. This makes their class the lowest attended of any at Vassar because no one truly cool would show up, including the teacher. On several occasions they were offered the position as head model for a prestigious manufacturer of rainbow school accessories. Never has Charlie T. Unicorn participated in such activities as mere cameras are incapable of capturing their essence.
